What to agree before receiving
These are suggested items for an initial discussion. Actual tasks, charges and receiving conditions are agreed after reviewing the goods.
- Product master: SKU, name, colour, size and identification label.
- Carton details: carton numbers, quantities by SKU and mixed contents.
- Inspection scope: appearance, quantity, functionality and the checks required.
- Dispatch instructions: destination, inserts, labels and packing method.
- Returns decisions: who authorises quarantine, photo review or restocking.
Agree exception handling early
Define who to contact before proceeding when quantities differ, cartons are damaged, labels are unclear or unplanned goods arrive. Agree photo and work-record requirements with workload and cost in mind.
Make quotes comparable
Compare receiving, inspection, processing, packing materials, dispatch, delivery and returns as well as storage. Separate normal monthly volume from peak forecasts.
