Different documents serve different purposes
Requirements vary by coverage under the Act and classification as specified electrical products. A test report alone does not establish readiness for sale.
- Business notification: a procedure concerning the business and categories of electrical products handled.
- Technical compliance: checking product specifications and construction against applicable standards.
- Self-inspection and records: carrying out the required checks and retaining records.
- Labelling: checking the applicable PSE mark, notifying business name and other required details.
Match test documents to the product sold
Compare model numbers, ratings, included power supplies and manufacturer details. Gaps not resolved by documents may require photos, further specifications or physical checks.
Distinguish legal deadlines from project lead times
Domestic importers must notify within 30 days of starting the business; this is not our service lead time. Self-inspection records must be retained for three years from inspection. Sales preparation depends on documents and product classification.

Frequently asked questions
Are CE or UL documents enough?
Overseas certification does not replace checks under Japan's Act. Existing documents are reviewed to identify usable information and remaining gaps.
What if there are several models?
Share the model list and specification differences. Models in the same series may differ in construction or ratings.
